This bone barbed point was found in 1974 in the Devil’s Wood Pit at Sproughton. It was used by hunter-gathers living in the Ipswich area toward the end of the last (Devensian) glaciation. A recent radiocarbon date gives an age of 11440±120 BC for the point.
