National Lottery funding approved for ‘The Hold: A Suffolk Archives Service for the 21st Century’
A National Lottery grant of £10.3m to create a flagship heritage centre for Suffolk and transform people’s access to their archives, was announced yesterday.
The money, awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), will see the completion of The Hold beside the Ipswich Waterfront and launch an exciting and people-focused future for Suffolk’s archive service.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported our project 'The Hold: A Suffolk Archives Service for the 21st Century' for which Heritage Lottery Funding was confirmed yesterday. We are immensely grateful to our staff, volunteers, donors and stakeholders for helping us reach this huge milestone. Thanks to the Lottery's support, we are looking forward to delivering a huge range of archive-inspired events, activities, and new learning opportunities across the whole of Suffolk!
